    Keppel Offshore & Marine’s (Keppel O&M) wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine) has secured contracts from Codralux S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jan De Nul Group, to build two Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs). The dredgers are valued at approximately S$120 million, including owner-furnished equipment.

    The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday announced the arrest of 10 foreign nationals for illegally extracting minerals in San Felipe, Zambales. NBI Director Dante A. Gierran said operatives of the NBI-Environmental Crime Division (NBI-EnCD) arrested 10 foreign nationals, most of whom are Chinese were caught in flagrante operating the dredging vessel SL-D1 siphoning sand which is suspected to be black sand from the dead river and transporting its cargo to the mother vessel.

    In a new YouGov study exclusively commissioned by DP World, 77% of respondents from the GCC and North Africa strongly agreed that cultural diversity was key to a more innovative workplace.

    A large majority of respondents (78%) said that they were more attracted to a company that employed a diverse mix of employees, rather than ones with employees who matched their own background, culture and thinking.

    A trailing suction hopper dredger ordered by Gippsland Ports of Victoria, Australia, in December 2015 has been been launched at Damen Yichang Shipyard in China.

    The vessel, Tommy Norton, is now alongside the yard’s new quay undergoing final commissioning, after which she will sail for Shanghai to undertake sea trials. Once those are completed she will sail for Australia on her own keel for dredging trials and delivery. The official handover will take place in August.
