    The European Commission will co-finance the project ‘Futureproof Skills for the Maritime transport sector (SkillSea)’ as publicly announced at a signature ceremony hosted by the EU Transport Commissioner, Violeta Bulc, on 20 November 2018. The project aims to develop strategies to identify and meet the future skills needs of the maritime sector and attract greater numbers of Europeans to work in maritime industries. The four-year project will begin in January 2019.

    The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport organized a forum, “The Impact of Silk Road and Investment Opportunities between the Arab Countries and China” held at the headquarters in Alexandria from the 17th – 19th September, in cooperation with the League of Arab States. The conference witnessed participation from a number of international experts and consultants from various Arab countries, in addition to Italy and China.

ITCO donates tank container to Shanghai Maritime University

The International Tank Container Organisation has completed the donation of a 20ft ISO tank container to the Shanghai Maritime University, China’s leading academic institution for the shipping, ports and logistics industry. The tank will be used by the University for training and education purposes as part of a programme which includes six 1-day training days, together with access by students to ITCO’s on-line Tank Container E-learning Course.


AASTS celebrates 48th UAE National Day

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTS) – Sharjah Branch, celebrated the 48th UAE National Day on site at their campus, in the presence of students, faculty and administrative members, the Khor Fakkan Municipality, the Khor Fakkan Police & Traffic Department, the Planning & Survey Department, and the Sharjah Investment Authority (Shurooq).
