The American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF) is going virtual with its annual Anchor Awards in 2020 in response to the social distancing guidelines brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACMF, which has held its glitzy affair at the Historic Yacht Club in midtown Manhattan for the past two years, will be celebrating the achievements of stalwarts in the international maritime sector and highlighting its accomplishments over a multi-day online event.
Saving the news for later as to who will walk away with the coveted trophy, ACMF President, Dr. Geneive Brown Metzger, notes that “the event will be just as exciting as in the past even more participants online than we would have at a traditional event”.
Shipping industry leaders, donors, friends, and ACMF scholarship recipients will ensure the ACMF can continue its mission to alleviate poverty and transform lives in the Caribbean through maritime education and community development. Charing the gala is former honoree and donor, Captain Remy Vyzelman, Chairman of Integra Marine & Freight Services in Suriname, now Dubai Port World.
