UAE waters are safe despite attack on Israeli vessel near Fujairah Port

After the Israeli-owned ship, Hyperion Ray, was attacked by an Iranian missile in the Arabian Sea, near Fujairah Port, the UAE Government conducted a detailed investigation to ensure that minimum to no damage was caused in the UAE waters, and no negative outcomes were reported as a result of the attack. The explosion took place on the 13th of April, 2021. Although the ship owner did confirm that slight damages were caused to the vessel, no casualties were reported onboard, and the ship continued on its way after being hit.

Shortly after the attack took place, a spokesperson from the ship’s company addressed the media. Although he did not comment on whether there was an attempted assault on the vessel, he did say that the ship “incurred no damage and is continuing at full speed on its original voyage.” Moreover, this was the second time when a vessel owned by the company, Ray Shipping Ltd., had been attacked by Iran.
